1. Foreign nationals must register their accommodation within 24 hours of arriving in Hainan.

The accommodation registration formalities of foreign nationals staying in hotels shall be completed by the hotel where they reside. Foreign nationals who stay in domiciles other than hotels shall go through registration formalities online via the Haiyiban accommodation registration platform or in person at the police station with jurisdiction over the area where they are staying. Their hosts may also register on their behalf. Those who fail to register will be given a warning and a fine of not more than 2000 yuan may also be imposed.

2. Foreign nationals shall leave China prior to the expiry of the duration of stay.

Foreign nationals who stay or reside in China shall not engage in activities not corresponding to their purpose of stay or residence and shall leave China prior to the expiry of the prescribed duration of stay or residence. Those who reside in China illegally shall be given a warning; where circumstances are serious, a fine of 500 yuan per day shall be imposed, with a cap of RMB 10,000 yuan in total, or they may be detained for not less than five days but not more than fifteen days.
