Recently, the city of Haikou has introduced seven types of measures aimed at promoting the vibrant development of its nighttime economy.
These measures include:
1.Cultivating Specialized Night Economy Consumption Zones by upporting the development of zones that integrate diverse formats such as night dining, shopping, tourism, and entertainment.
2.Creating Diverse Nighttime Consumption Scenes by implementing measures to enrich content, extend operating hours, and allow enterprises to use their own premises for regular outdoor setups.
3.Enhancing Transportation Services in Night Economy Aggregation Areas by optimizing traffic support services in commercial districts, blocks, and night markets to alleviate parking issues.
4.Strengthening Management and Service Functions by improving food safety, security, hygiene, and fire safety measures, and moderately relaxing regulations on fixed-time and fixed-area sales in the nighttime economy.
5.Integrating Employment Supply with Night Economy by organizing regular job fairs combining recruitment with opportunities in the nighttime economy to increase employment channels.
In addition, Haikou plans to implement supportive incentive policies, including one-time financial rewards of 500,000 RMB for exemplary night economy demonstration districts, 300,000 RMB for distinctive commercial districts, and 200,000 RMB for unique night markets.
These initiatives aim to ignite nighttime consumption in Haikou, enhancing public enjoyment and boosting commercial vitality. Officials from the the Municipal Commerce Bureau expressed confidence that these measures will bolster support for the development of the nighttime economy, elevating its attractiveness and stimulating its prosperous growth.
