Recently, the China National Intellectual Property Administration announced the winners of the 25th China Patent Awards, with four Haikou-based institutions making the list. Their award-winning projects span industries including biomedicine, high-end food processing, and new energy vehicles. This achievement reflects Haikou's accelerating efforts to deeply integrate industrial innovation with technological innovation, actively exploring practical pathways to form new quality productive forces.

On June 19th, reporters saw the USV-W110 survey unmanned surface vessel in the exhibition hall of Hainan Flyer-Tech Co., Ltd. Last month, it won the silver award at the "2025 NY Product Design Awards." This unmanned vessel integrates multiple advanced technologies, enabling it to perform water detection missions in complex and harsh environments while also providing maritime patrol solutions. The exhibition hall also showcased "cutting-edge equipment" such as drones and underwater robots, highlighting the company’s innovation-driven development. Currently, the company holds multiple intellectual property rights and undertakes several national and provincial-level research projects. It plans to further increase investment in technological innovation in the future.

Meanwhile, the Hainan Provincial Industry and Information Technology Department lately published its first batch recognition list for "specialized and innovative" SMEs (also known as "little giant" enterprises). Thirty-eight Haikou-based companies were selected, accounting for nearly half of the total. These companies are mainly distributed in emerging industrial fields.

Since the beginning of this year, key industrial parks in Haikou have strengthened factor guarantees, showcasing dynamic acceleration in the aggregation of innovation elements at the industrial forefront.

On June 16th, the Haikou Navigation Incubator was unveiled at the Haikou National Hi-Tech Zone, with the first batch of 26 medical device companies signing agreements to settle in. Policies explored and implemented by Hainan, such as the medical device marketing authorization holder (MAH) system, are highly attractive to companies. The fastest-moving enterprise within the incubator has already obtained seven Class II medical device registration certificates.

Talent is crucial to the development of enterprises and industries. In the Haikou Comprehensive Bonded Zone, the park promotes the integrated development of industry and talent through policy innovation, platform upgrades, and industry-education integration. Since the beginning of this year, the zone has recognized 132 talents across various categories, further solidifying the talent base for the park’s high-quality development.

An official from the Haikou Science, Technology, and Industry Information Technology Bureau stated that, Haikou will forge ahead in promoting new industrialization, technological innovation, and industrial upgrasion. It will push enterprises in the industry and IT sectors to improve quality and expand capacity, foster the growth of key industrial clusters, build high-level innovation platforms, and promote deep integration of technological and industrial innovation.
