Vehicles run on the broad lanes of Haiwenbeilu, relocation housing complexes rise from flat ground. Currently, Haikou Jiangdong New Area is going all out in improving the neighborhood facilities, accelerating the completion of multiple public service projects, and enhancing residents' quality of life. Since June this year, key projects in the area have raced against time, striving to achieve its half-year targets as planned.

Accelerated Project Construction

On June 11, at the construction site of the Yeqingyuan Community School, workers rushed to complete finishing tasks—watering landscape, installing equipments, vehicles shuttling back and forth. The school features a minimalist blue-and-white façade, connected corridors between buildings, and staggered layouts for cafeterias, dormitories, and classrooms.

"Currently, 150 workers are fully engaged in landscaping and interior finishing," said Guo Yikong, production manager of China Construction Fourth Engineering Division.

Meanwhile, the main structure of Chunhuiyuan Plot A04 has been fully topped out. Upon completion, it will provide 1,142 relocation apartments, with delivery scheduled for Q2 2026. "Nearly 350 workers and managers are maintaining steady progress and rapid pace for interior and exterior decoration," stated the project head.

The Jiangdong Boxueli Project Phase I, a key public welfare initiative, has also completed its main structure. "We are now in secondary construction and aim for completion by January 2026," said project manager Xing Yifa. Adjacent to Hainan Normal University (Guilinyang Campus) and Hainan College of Economics and Business, the four-story commercial building will integrate supermarkets, hotels, entertainment, and dining into a multi-functional complex.

Diverse Commercial Formats

On June 10, the Headquarters Economic Zone (Eco-CBD) showcased clustered skyscrapers, complete with cafés, restaurants, banks, and frequent new business launches—significantly optimizing the work environment.

"Now there’s a wide range of afternoon tea options," said Fu Qiuying, an employee at Hainan Energy Trading Tower, while ordering a drink via an app displaying bakeries and fruit shops. "Jiangdong Tiandi will soon open, and I expect more amenities here."

At the Jiangdong Tiandi site, staggered buildings with gleaming glass curtain walls are under rapid construction for a September opening. This complex will integrate premium retail, cultural venues, and offices.

Additionally, the area is expanding quality housing: The Tinghaige project in the CBD has topped out its southern section, offering 638 move-in ready apartments for corporate employees.

A Jiangdong New Area Administration official stated that the zone will accelerate housing, roads, and hospitals while continue to boost investment, striving to provide a complete support system for employees and residents in the region.
